Why £7.90?

In a perfect world, the tickets would be free. I know it's easy to say that and then charge, as we're doing this year, but we truly believe that the way to get the most people and create the best atmosphere at an event is to make it free. So that's our aim for next year, when we have capital to invest in doing another Moo-vie Festival because the very reason to host events like this is the terrific PR it generates (I'm just listening to BBC Hereford & Worcester Radio at the moment as they're really kindly running an interview with us about it).

First though, we're still a new business and we don't have a budget for PR, whilst all our money is going into expanding the business (packaging, logistics, production and all those glamorous things!) we're charging for tickets this year.

We wanted you to know that £7.90 is not just a figure plucked from the air, it's the amount that will cover our costs. We don't plan or expect to make any profit from this event, this is for the great PR and for people to get to know the brand and come and see us at the farm. The cost for the tickets covers the screen and speaker hire (and the super dude we have running all the technical side), the events loos and tiered seating (both of which are very good quality as these are two things on which we were not happy to scrimp and save), also the hire of the generator, plus the royalties we pay to the film company to be allowed to show the films.

After that, we hope that people will be happy to buy a burger or steak supper on the night, perhaps a pint of local ale or cider and some cinema snacks like local popcorn and ice cream. The spend on that will cover the costs of the food and drink and the help we're getting from a few staff.

So that's why it's £7.90 and we really hope you don't mind. Also, look out for the 4 for 3 offer for friends coming together. We thought we should at least try and cover the cost of a special offer this year!
